Session Neuroinformatics
Modeling neuronal morphology and synaptic connectivity

7th Dutch Endo-Neuro-Psycho Meeting 2008 (ENP2008)
Doorwerth, June 4-6, 2008, The Netherlands

Session 22
Thursday, June 5, 9:30 - 11:00

Neuronal morphology plays a pivotal role in the functioning of neuronal networks. It is an important determinant of synaptic connectivity and is critically involved in neuronal computations such as filtering and coincidence detection. Moreover, neuronal morphology can be highly plastic and can undergo significant alterations in response to environmental conditions and pathology, such as chronic stress, epilepsy, and disorders associated with mental retardation. The aim of this session is to present model studies on the development of neuronal morphology and synaptic connectivity and on the impact of morphological alterations on neuronal function.

Moderator: Arjen van Ooyen (Amsterdam)
